We are starting 2025 strong with 3 new capabilities that will accelerate resolution velocity and empower our partners to offer even more value to their customers. Here’s what’s been released this week:
Delegated Authentication
As more organizations adopt Zero Trust principles to enhance security, partners are facing more restricted access to customers’ Microsoft 365 environments. In response, we’re introducing Delegated Authentication.
Partners now have the capability to send authentication requests to their customers via system email or secure link, ensuring a secure and seamless start to customers’ Microsoft 365 data protection journey. This feature improves trust and efficiency while adhering to the stringent security standards essential to Zero Trust frameworks.
Cross Restore for Microsoft Teams
Late last year, we introduced Cross-Teams Channel Restore, allowing partners to restore both public and private channels beyond Microsoft’s 30-day restoration window. Building on that foundation, we are now expanding this capability to the entire Microsoft Teams.
Partners can now restore an entire Team to another Team of the same type (e.g., Team → Team) while recreating the original data structure to ensure a seamless user experience. This enhancement addresses existing Microsoft limitations, significantly reduces time to resolution and ensures business continuity.
Cross Restore for SharePoint Online
The introduction of SharePoint Agents at Microsoft Ignite has provided partners with the opportunity to develop targeted sites to test Copilot on specific datasets. This development has heightened the need for advanced restoration capabilities, especially as partners seek to pilot Copilot with controlled data sets for their customers.
With Cross Restore for SharePoint Online, partners can now restore a SharePoint site into another SharePoint site while preserving data structure. This feature allows partners to quickly restore multiple sites into a new site, facilitating native restoration challenges and controlled SharePoint Agent testing.
